Tuesday, April 16: Marianne of East of Malaga has a monthly photo challenge called the Conejo Blanco Blog Hop, or CBBH for short. Her challenge for this month is: multi-colored.
According to this website: “Colour is a meaningful constant for sighted people and it’s a powerful psychological tool. By using color psychology, you can send a positive or negative message, encourage sales, calm a crowd, or make an athlete pump iron harder.”
Talking of sales, Henry Ford famously declared that the Model-T buyer could choose “any colour, so long as it’s black.” Thank goodness that these days, consumers are more discerning!
Here are some multi-colored photos from my travels around the world.
** One blogger I follow and love is Lynn Wohlers of bluebrightly. Lynn blogs about “photography or philosophy, birds or flowers, zen, maps, psychology, travel… [her] mind roams.” She takes stunning pictures of forests, leaves, flowers, and anything else in nature you can think of. When I look at her photos, I want to jump into their magical worlds and stay there for a good long time.
**Another blogger I love is Roseanne of Wondering Rose. Rosie works at an art museum in southern California and shares quirky and funny stories about her encounters at her cash register. She always writes thought-provoking posts and comments. I truly enjoy and appreciate her kindness and her insights. Rosie had the life-altering experience of walking the Camino de Santiago. I really hope to meet her if I can get to California this Christmas.

Any chatter going on over there in the media in regards to the Boston bombing?

Hey, you have boats too 🙂 😀 Lovely!!!!

Yes, Paula, what could be better than colorful boats? Thanks for visiting. 🙂

First of all, welcome to the CBBH Photo Challenge, Cathy. It’s great to have you on board 🙂
Of all your photos are wonderful, but I was blown away by the multi-coloured boats in Nepal – stunning!
I’ve just enjoyed walks with Lynn in the park and a (slightly) longer one with Rosie on the Camino.
Great suggestions for blogs to visit. Thanks 🙂

Thanks so much, Marianne. It was great to participate. I thought about combining your challenge with the Weekly Photo Challenge two weeks ago, but I just couldn’t get it together to do the extra work on that one (naming 2 bloggers, including the logo, etc). Since I just did that one, I had fewer pickings left over for your challenge. Strange how sometimes these photo challenges from different people have similar themes. 🙂
I’m so glad you enjoyed Lynn’s and Rosie’s blogs. And also that you enjoyed my boats in Nepal. I love those pictures. 🙂

Love the pictures, Cathy, but the boat photos are my favorites. It is a colorful world.

Thanks so much, Lynne. I love those boats too. 🙂

Wonderful photos for the challenge, Cathy. I especially love those boats, and the brilliantly coloured trim in the last pic. 🙂
catbirdinoman said:
Thanks, Sylvia. Those boats are my favorites! You can see the trim actually added to the abayas; I see it all the time on my students at the university. Too bad it’s so difficult to photograph women here.

Outrageous colours Cathy! I like the gloves best 🙂
catbirdinoman said:
Thanks so much, Gilly. There were so many colorful things in Nepal, I wanted to buy everything. But, as I have no need for gloves in Oman…. 🙂
The Wanderlust Gene said:
Stupendous! Serious colour abounds in Oman, that’s for sure, and I adore the multi-coloured glove fingers … but those boats … just divine.
catbirdinoman said:
Thanks so much Meredith. Most of these colorful pictures were taken in Pokhara, Nepal, which is very colorful indeed. In Oman color is a little harder to find. 🙂

Brilliant pictures, Cathy, and Henry Ford’s statement was the perfect set up followed by those wonderful boats. I couldn’t even pick a favorite picture. I’m going to enjoy your friends as well. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
catbirdinoman said:
Thanks so much, Marsha. Glad you enjoyed them, although I can’t claim credit for the Henry Ford statement; that was taken directly from Marianne’s challenge post. 🙂

Oh well, who ever says anything original?? I head a speech recently by a teen who said, “I was going to quote, Churchill, and Kennedy, but you all know what they said, so I’m going to quote a young up and coming leader, …. ME.” She was so cute, and got a good laugh out of all of us at the summit. Like we remember every word from anyone – even our own quotes!! hahaha Who does?? People will sometimes say, “You told me…” It’s out of my mouth, out of my brain almost as quickly! hahaha (unless I’m fighting with my husband! – then my memory records every word, every gesture, every look!) What’s up with that???
catbirdinoman said:
Haha, it’s so funny! Yes, we all say things and forget immediately what we said and sometimes we can’t believe what actually came out of our mouths when someone repeats our own words to us!! Funny how you always remember the fights with your husband. So true!!
tchistorygal said:
🙂 sadly! I also surprised him the other day remembering something he told me when we were going together 18 years ago! 🙂 So I do remember some things! hahahaha

That’s so cute. 🙂

How wonderful and colorful photos. They differs very much from post presenting Arctic Circle in Winter.

That is the truth, Sartenada. We are worlds apart between the Arctic Circle and Oman!! : Thanks for visiting. -)

Oh Cathy…Oh Cathy!! Thank yo so much. I am behind and trying to catch up, and now I see this. Thank you – and I’m loving all the color here!
catbirdinoman said:
Thanks so much, Lynn! Don’t worry, I’m REALLY behind too. My hope is to catch up this week. I have been so wrapped up in trying to sell my car and it’s unbelievable how time-consuming it all is! I can’t seem to handle more than one thing at a time in my life. 🙂

Tuff to pic a fave in this group. I think the multi color boats…maybe the gloves …the trim…shoot,I don’t know!!!
