Wednesday, October 17: This week I was invited to join the Līgo Circle of Appreciation by Esenga’s Voice. She noted that I am “a nomad sharing the beauty of the world.” Thank you, Esenga! I try to share the beauty; sometimes I share the frustrations, the adventures, the excitement and the sorrows as well. I try to be as true as I can be, within this world where I live.
The yearly Līgo celebration happens every summer solstice in Latvia.
At this time we adorn our heads with Līgos of flowers, oak leaves,
grasses and plants. We join circles around bonfires and celebrate life,
and our appreciation of each other.
Here’s our
Līgo Circle of Appreciation
among fellow bloggers.
For duration of 22 days, starting on 1st October 2012, we will be inviting
2 bloggers per day
to join the Līgo Circle of Appreciation.
PLEASE NOTE: This is an Appreciation, NOT an Award.
To fully participate in the Līgo Circle of Appreciation:
~
* Complete this sentence about blogging: ”A great blog is…”
* Refer back to the blogger who invited you
* Invite 2 bloggers to join the Līgo Circle of Appreciation on a post
~
A great blog is a little oasis where we can find a sliver of a life: a life full of joys, sorrows, adventures, frustrations, hopes & dreams.
Two bloggers who I would love to invite to the Līgo Circle of Appreciation are:
Shelby Bracken of bones, mugs & harmony: she takes beautiful photographs of everyday people, who she introduces with miniature stories rich with concrete and yet whimsical details. I love to visit her posts and read about the people she encounters, to have a peek into their lives. She lives in Portland, Oregon.
Jen of lattes and leggings describes herself as “a southern girl cooking in the big apple.” She creates fabulous and colorful recipes and tells a story to go along with each one. I’ve already tried some of her concoctions and I plan to try many more!
There are of course many more bloggers I would love to invite, but I will reserve them for other nominations & other invitations… 🙂
Thank you very much for accepting the invitation and helping the circle grow. Beautiful post.
I was happy to accept, Esenga; it was so nice of you to invite me! 🙂
Hi! Thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of the circle of appreciation and for your kind words. I’m very honored 🙂
You’re welcome, Jen. You have a beautiful blog and I’m happy to appreciate you! 🙂
Such a pretty, maidenly image, Cath, and of course I had to go and visit Esenga out of curiosity, so- job done!
Thank you, Jo, although I can’t claim credit for the image! It’s nice to be included in any circle of appreciation. 🙂
This is such a pretty badge, and I love your post, Cathy. Yours is definitely one of my favourites, and fits your description of a great blog, perfectly.
Thank you so much, Sylvia, although I can’t take credit for the badge. I think that is Esenga’s creation, and I love it too! Thank you so much for the compliment, and you know I feel the same way about your blog! 🙂
When I received this blog post this morning, on a nomad in the land of nizwa, it first opened to your orange yellow blog with the title: Page Not Found. I had to go back to the email I received from wordpress, and click on catbirdman. Then this blog post opened up. Also, there is no box showing for me to check off to receive a return comment on the comment I am currently making to you right this moment.
That is so weird, Livvy! I had a lot of problems after I first posted this with it not showing up under my recent posts. I don’t know what the problem is with this post. It’s not a reblog or anything. Let me know if you get my return comment. Sometimes lately I’m having so much trouble opening up my notifications from WordPress. Then I find it a pain to reply to comments that bloggers make in reply to me when I comment on their blogs!! I think there are some glitches in WordPress!
I just came back to this post to see if you replied. And you did! The little box on wordpress below the comment section that is not on your blog site for the person commenting on your blog to check off. The little box allows the commenter to check off that they want a return comment. I cannot do that on your blog when I post a comment. 12:06 eastern standard time.
I don’t think you need to come back to my blog to see if I reply. You know on the top right black bar of your blog, between “New Post” and your name, there is one of those little conversation bubbles and all the notifications will show up when you click on that. Then you will see all my replies to your comments, and you don’t have to visit the post again.
Start a new blog to see if it happens on the new blog. Something is wrong. I cannot check off here to get a return comment from you. There is no little box for me to do so. The only way I can write to you is if you make a new blog post, and then I can write on it but not check off for a reply from you. I can go to your old posts though, like this one, to see if you replied to me, ONLY if you write a new blog post and send it out.
Hmmm, I’m a little confused by this…. Because I see all your comments and i reply to them on my “notifications.” I don’t think it matters whether you check a box or not, because i don’t think I have any of my boxes activated… 🙂
Congrats on this one… 🙂
Congratulations on this beautiful award and a beautiful acknowledgement 🙂
Thank you, Madhu! And thanks for visiting so much all at one time!! 🙂

Esenga, thanks for the invitation to contribute on Spain, but as I haven’t been there yet, I sadly don’t have anything to contribute. However, I do have a trip planned there this summer!! Can’t wait! 🙂
