Sunday, July 29: Jakesprinter’s Sunday Post for this week is road. For inspiration, he writes: A road is a route, or way on land between two places, which typically has been paved or otherwise improved to allow travel by some conveyance, including a horse, cart, or motor vehicle.
Here’s a road in Oman flooded during a rare period of rainfall. During these periods, there is flooding everywhere. Roads are often covered by raging rivers and rendered impassable.
That’s a lot of water for a desert country! How long until it seeps away – probably not very long?
Hi Marco, It comes quickly and then disappears into the ground just as quickly. And then we’re back to the regular dry landscape! 🙂
With a whole lot of sand that goes everywhere 🙂
Yes, you’re right Marco. Not just sand but rocks and mud as well…. 🙂
And its yours, A L L Y O U R S ! ! !
Yes, aren’t I lucky?? 🙂
Now what to do with is? Make glass and silicon and then take over the world?
Hmmm, I don’t think I’d want that job!! 🙂
I know I’d get the “recipe” mixed up and probably end up with nuclear warheads – what’s your reasoning?
Haha, I just don’t like being the boss! I’d rather do my own thing unnoticed, keeping my head down!! 🙂
Ah now that makes sense! Under the sonar = you get more done and mostly people don’t even know who’s doing the getting done 🙂
Nice work about floods seems like every part of every nation suffering in this kind of calamity , even here it`s happen thanks for sharing my friend 🙂
Thank you Jake! Yes, this only happens very rarely in Oman. Once in the whole year that I’ve been here!
That’s an awful lot of mud. So glad our roads aren’t like that. 😉
Usually the roads here aren’t bad at all; it’s just when it rains, which is rarely…. I’m glad our roads in US aren’t like this….. 🙂
Our roads are not very pretty during the monsoons! And that is an understatement 🙂
I can imagine, having been to India!!
