Be careful how you wish time to pass!

Yes, Gilly, I try not to do it too much, but right now there is so much negativity at work, I just really have to get out of here!

I know the feeling…I am counting till July.
catbirdinoman said:
Lucky you. July is a lot closer than August. And you’re leaving for good, right?
ruralrouterunner said:
Yes, I am leaving for good. Or at least this is the plan.

I’m so excited about your new adventure. I hope you’ll keep blogging so we can follow you where you go next!

Thank you Theresa; there are so many bad vibes at work right now, I just can’t wait to get the heck out…

If you are staying in Oman for August, how could you be wishing for August;p
Sooooooooooo hot.
catbirdinoman said:
Nooo, Princess, I’m not staying in Oman during August!! On August 2, I fly to the USA and will stay for one month. I come back here August 30 and then leave for Greece on the 31st until September 13. That’s why I’m counting down the days. I miss my sons and my home in the US!!

I can really relate to that! We have a countdown going on over here too – today is 162. (days until we go ‘home’ to San Diego and see our kids and grandkiddos)
catbirdinoman said:
Wow, that’s exciting, Donna. So 162 days, that will be mid-November?? I hope you’ll have a wonderful trip home!!

We grow most when facing difficult challenges and emerging with more wisdom. We learn to have more empathy for those who are still struggling (and making our lives miserable at times!) We learn to be thankful that we’re not wired to be angry or hostile or negative, but we also learn to question, “What if I were born into that life?”
Reaching a better place in life certainly makes us thankful for swimming through those rough waters and emerging into a calm and soothing pond!
Ask yourself, “Will I feel like this a year from now?” Most likely you’ll look back and say, “Whew! Who would have thought….”
Hang in there! Z

Thanks so much for your words of wisdom Z! You’re right, this will probably seem like nothing at all a year from now. Right now, it’s so hot and I’m so impatient, each day seems like an eternity. I’m trying to be patient and enjoy the days I have here, but I know I’ll be returning here in September for another year, so I won’t be missing it for long. Thanks so much for your words of encouragement… 🙂

You are so welcome; when one has walked in those shoes, it’s easy to have empathy while offering words of encouragement! There is life and happiness after the trials, and it takes a long time to reconcile what we left behind with a new life, new customs and experiences.

You’re so right!! Only 4 days left in July and in 6 days (well really a little over 5 days) I’ll be on my plane to Washington!! 🙂 Just wish I didn’t have a crazy week at work ahead!!
