Thursday, May 3: Another challenge from Sherene at PRINT SENSE photography & design: pick a colour. any colour! As always, please interpret this challenge as you desire. For some of us we are surrounded by the colours of spring, for others we are awash in the rich hues of fall. This challenge is about capturing the beautiful colours around you. Be creative and have fun!
I pick Yellow! I found these Lantana flowers at the Sifawy Boutique Hotel at As Sifah Beach near Muscat today….
Finally, here are some yellow & jewel-colored textiles at the Mutrah Souq.
I love yellow! It is such a happy colour. Beautiful pictures!
Me too Sherene! Thank you!
I love your color-choice! Sunlight gathered and captured in these flowers’ petals. Such radiance and light. Thank you for sharing these lovely photographs.
Thank you so much Myra! I really appreciate it!! 🙂
Lantana flowers? I love yellow too as long as I don’t have to wear it. Love the textiles, let me in that souk!!!
I’m so glad you told me the name of this flower Gilly! I often don’t know the names of flowers, so I’m always glad to be enlightened! I love them too and you’re right, on me as well, yellow clothing looks atrocious!! Since there are so many Indians in Oman, we have a lot of Indian textiles in the souq. It’s almost like visiting India again without the filth! By the way, have you ever seen an Australian movie called Lantana? It’s really great!!
No not heard of it, we don’t seem to get Aussie films here unless its just me being unaware. I love how those glorious textiles are all over the Islamic world, here too but overpriced. Not that I mind paying high prices – just that I want the money to reach the right people!
Textiles are even overpriced in Oman, at least compared to India or Cambodia and Vietnam! I’m the same, I don’t mind paying if it’s really benefiting the craftspeople!!
I would have chosen yellow too! Love your selection of images!

Yellow is such a cheerful color. You captured it beautifully. 🙂
I’m going to have to check out this challenge. It sounds interesting.
Thank you Robin. You should check out the 52 pick up challenge. I like the challenges because they make me look for things I might not normally notice. I found a lot of great challenges from eBloggers, but I don’t know how we WordPressers really get in on those!!
