Saturday, February 2: The WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge is UNIQUE: In a new post specifically created for this challenge, share a picture that says UNIQUE to you.
Maybe the image itself shows something distinct from its surroundings, or maybe it’s a unique take on a common subject. Maybe it’s a unique person in your life, or a treasured heirloom that’s irreplaceable.
Here are some UNIQUE people & things I’ve found around the world: Here’s a snake charmer in Rishikesh, India.

I haven’t written about this yet, but this was at a popular Hindu temple in Pokhara, Nepal.

I met Myrna in Korea under unusual circumstances, and she became a great inspiration to me. She is really a unique young lady.

And finally, I found a lot of very unique street art throughout Greece, particularly in Athens. I also found some amazing street art in Rethymno, Crete.

The wigs are highly unique!!
Aren’t they, Kathryn? They were highly popular in Korea too. I think they’re an Asian thing.
Well done!
Thanks, Meredith!
these are all great! z
Thanks, Lisa! Glad you liked them!

My goodness you’ve been to so many thrilling countries. I love your selection.
Thanks, Rosie. Yes, it’s been a great experience, but I’m not sure I’d call India “thrilling.” In theory yes, in reality, no. It was definitely interesting though, in addition to being an endurance test like you can’t imagine!
Good photo choices!
Thanks so much, Andrew!
Fantastic, I love the Pokhara shot and the Myrna story is amazing – of course its fate!
Thanks Gilly! Yes, Myrna turned out to inspire me to travel, and to not be afraid to go it alone. That young lady isn’t afraid of anything!!

Excellent photos for the challenge, Cathy. Those wigs are unique, for sure.
Aren’t they, Sylvia? Seems to be an Asian thing. When I lived in Korea you could rent those same kinds of wigs to do noraebang (like karaoke!)
All are so unique, wonderful selections. Happy weekend, Cathy!
Thank you so much, Amy! I hope you had a happy weekend too!
I just loved your people pictures
Thanks so much, Dallas. My goal is to start taking better people pictures, but of course most of these are old ones, except the one in Nepal. I always feel like surreptitiously taking pictures of people is so invasive. And besides, they don’t always do what you would like them to do, and when they do, they look too posed. I wish I knew the answer. I keep getting inspired by Steve McCurry’s portrait photos. Maybe they’ll get better with time and practice… and patience!

That snake charmer photo is fabulous!
Thanks so much, Ruth! I was so excited about that one!
A lovely selection Cathy! Off to read Myrna’s story
Thanks, Madhu!
Yes, they are unique! Great examples to include in the challenge!
Thanks, Fergiemoto!
Thanks for sharing these pictures. I feel like I know Myrna already… something about her face in this picture… she’s like all my good friends wrapped up in a picture.
That’s so cute about Myrna, Cyn. I’m sure you would like her. She was truly an inspiration for me.
