Friday, January 4: On our way to Wadi Shab, we make a quick stop in Sur to climb the highest watchtower near the harbor to get a sweeping view of the town. Alex climbs a ladder inside the watchtower to the top. Adam, who is quite adventurous most of the time, refuses to stand on the edge of the cliff for a picture because he’s afraid of heights. On the way down, Adam juggles some rocks.
We go down to the harbor, where we drink some banana juice. After our little stop, we make our way up the coast to Wadi Shab.

Must have been a beautiful change in scene. Going from desert to water! What a wonderful trip! You all look so happy!
Thank you, Jasmine! I’m glad you’re enjoying our journey! It’s really great to have them here.
I’m with Adam – heights and edges are a very bad combination!
I used to be more afraid than I am now, Carol. But I feel okay if the footing is solid. If it’s one bit slippery or gravely or unstable, I’m right there with Adam!
Brilliant colors – those pictures from the top are beautiful – especially the two dhows. Your boys look like great guys!
Thanks so much, Lynn! We’re having a great time!
